Tranmere boss Les Parry felt Enoch Showunmi deserved to win League One Player of the Year at the North West Football Awards.
The 29-year-old Nigerian forward received the accolade on Monday night at Old Trafford.
Showunmi became an instant hit with Rovers fans last term following his move from Falkirk and Parry believes he is a consummate professional.
Parry said: "It's fantastic. He thoroughly deserved it.
"Last year, I don't know how many goals he got, but it's his general play and his work ethic.
"For us, having him around the place is brilliant as well. He's a fantastic professional and I think it's well deserved."
