Bishop eyeing Shakers deal

Bury striker Andy Bishop is ready to commit to the club after his brace against Oldham took his season's goal tally to eight.

Bishop successfully returned to the Cumbrians this season after an 18 months lay-off on the sidelines due to injury problems. With form and fitness back in tandem, the 29-year-old has expressed his desire to extend an association with Gigg Lane that began in 2006. "I've not really spoken to the chairman or manager yet, but I've been at this club a long time," he told the Bury Times. "I've turned down bigger clubs before to stay here. I do love it here - I've got a lot of friends here, so if they want to come and speak to me, I'll talk about it. "If not, then we'll just see what happens."
