Jones urges fans to be patient

Midfielder Gary Jones has asked Rochdale fans to be patient, insisting Steve Eyre's team will come good in due course.

After Dale's heroics in finishing ninth in npower League One last season, the new term has brought the Spotland faithful down to the earth with a bump. They are just a point clear of the drop zone after 13 matches, but the 34-year-old has asked supporters to wait a little longer for Rochdale to start climbing the table once again. He told the Manchester Evening News: "People think it's going to be easy to do what we did last year - but we've lost four of our best players from last year, we have a new manager, new ideas and a new team and it takes time for everything to gel. "We've put four games unbeaten together now so hopefully that will give us the confidence to kick on. "I think we're starting to look a decent side and hopefully that will give us a bit of confidence and we can carry that on at Exeter."
