Clarkson gutted by gaffe

Brentford striker David Clarkson was "gutted" after he went from hero to villain during Saturday's 2-2 draw at Carlisle.

The Bristol City loanee opened his goalscoring account for the Bees at Brunton Park, but then scored an own-goal to put Carlisle ahead before Toumani Diagouraga's late equaliser. "I was delighted to score my first goal for the club," he said. "It gave us a lift and we deserved it. "We got ourselves ahead and worked hard but then to score the own-goal that put us 2-1 down, I was gutted. "It was one of those things, I just couldn't help it, it just hit me and went right in the corner. But we deserved a point."
