Due to Football League regulations, Bournemouth have turned the emergency loan signing of Wes Fogden into a permanent deal.
Current rules prevent Football League clubs from bringing a player in on loan from the Conference South, where Fogden's previous club Havant and Waterlooville play their football, or from anywhere further down the English football pyramid. However, permanent signings from the divisions below the Blue Square Premier are permitted, and therefore attacking midfielder Fogden put pen to paper on a three-year deal with the Cherries on Thursday afternoon. Earlier on Thursday the club had announced the former Brighton trainee had signed on loan, before discussions with the relevant authorities revealed the discrepancies in the move. The 23-year-old is available for selection for Bournemouth's League One clash with Rochdale on Saturday. "It's the chance of a lifetime and I didn't know if it was going to come along," Fogden told the club's official website. "It's a massive boost."
