Magpies sweat on Burgess scan

Notts County's Ben Burgess will undergo a scan to determine the extent of a knee injury he picked up in training.

The striker netted twice last month as the Magpies went unbeaten during September, but a training ground collision ruled him out of the 3-0 defeat to MK Dons on Saturday. Manager Martin Allen told the club's official website: "He had a collision of knees in training. He's got some swelling on his knee, so he's having a scan to see if there's damage. "I feel so sorry for him. He's scoring goals and doing really well. "In training he literally knocked knees with somebody, but it was a collision of knees. "He's just jolted his knee and I just pray that he has done no damage."
