Veteran has no intention of ending his career anytime soon

Experienced Bury defender Efe Sodje insists he has no immediate plans to call time on his playing career. The 38-year-old has had a fine career since joining Stevenage in 1994, playing for the likes of Crewe and Gillingham and representing Nigeria on the international stage. However, despite making his 600th league appearance on Saturday, Sodje says he has no intention of hanging up his boots any time soon. "Age doesn't matter to me and I'm more than happy to play every game this season," he told skysports.com. "I keep telling myself that I can play for another four years, so hopefully I've got a lot more games left in me. "Age isn't a problem any more because if you take care of yourself then you are laughing."

Return

Sodje has represented nine other professional clubs during his career, including Yeovil, who the Shakers visit at the weekend. And the Nigerian is relishing the chance to return to Huish Park again. He added: "Every club that I have played for has always been special to me and going back to my former clubs is always nice for me, so I'm looking forward to the trip to Yeovil. "Hopefully, we can put a few more points on the board and start climbing the table because that is what matters at the end of the day."
