Arter disappointed with officials

Bournemouth midfielder Harry Arter has criticised the quality of League One referees after Saturday's defeat to Hartlepool.

Arter watched on as Iain Williamson produced only a yellow card for Pool's Andy Monkhouse after a heavy challenge on team-mate Warren Cummings, during the Cherries' 2-1 home loss. And, after saying Williamson was wrong not to award a red card to the Pools midfielder, Arter suggested the standard of refereeing in England's third tier leaves some room for improvement. "The referee let them off lightly in my opinion," Arter told the Bournemouth Echo. "Referees just have to be consistent. But it's League One - maybe the referees aren't up to the top standard yet and I guess we have to appreciate that they are still learning. "I hope he does learn from it as well because he didn't really have the best of games."
