Abbott lays down the challenge

Carlisle boss Greg Abbott has challenged his players to prove they are good enough to play for the club.

Abbott is dismayed by the mistakes which have seen his side concede 13 goals in their last five game, while it is nine matches since the Cumbrians kept a clean sheet. The manager is considering making changes for the visit of Stevenage on Saturday when Carlisle will bid to avoid a sixth defeat in seven outings. "The players know what to expect and we're reminding them of that a little earlier than usual in the week," Abbott told the News & Star. "If they don't show what we need on Saturday then maybe there's something lacking in the group. "Some of them are tougher than others and we have to get that determination into their mindsets."
