Rochdale boss Steve Eyre was delighted after his side secured their first league win in their 4-2 success at Lancashire derby rivals Bury.

The goals flowed at Gigg Lane as the visitors raced into an early 3-0 lead courtesy of Ashley Grimes, Marcus Holness and Bury old boy Nicky Adams, who was later sent off after picking up a second yellow card. David Ball added a fourth Rochdale goal shortly after half-time, while Bury's consolation strikes came from Mike Jones and Andy Bishop. After picking up his first maximum points haul of the season, a delighted Eyre said: "Of course it's always nice to get a good result in a derby like this one. "It will mean so much to our fans. Bragging rights will have been secured and we can move on to the next game in terrific spirits. "All the players are buzzing back there - it just goes to show how much this victory means to them too."
