Wycombe boss Gary Waddock is in no rush to sign a defender on loan after Dave Winfield was ruled out for a month.
Winfield, 23, underwent groin surgery on Wednesday leaving Waddock with James Tunnicliffe and Leon Johnson as his first-team defensive pair and teenager Anthony Stewart as back-up.
Stewart has yet to make a first-team appearance for Wanderers after signing a professional deal in the summer but is highly-rated at Adams Park.
Waddock said: "I am happy with Anthony and have been really pleased with his progress this season. Touch wood it doesn't happen, but if any of our centre-backs pick up knocks then we will have to look at it again. We have looked at it since Dave's injury but we know what we are doing and will make sure we are ready.
"You can look at it a number of different ways. You can bring a young player in - but we have got a very good young player already. If you bring a senior one in now then you would want to play him and that would be wrong because Tunny and Johnno have done well.
"But we will act upon it if, and when, we need to. There is no rush."
