Hartlepool boss Mick Wadsworth has praised Ritchie Humphreys for making the most of his unexpected run in the first team.
The 33-year-old midfielder, the club's all-time record appearance-maker, has taken advantage of Pools' injury problems, completing more full 90 minutes than he did during the whole of last season.
Wadsworth told the Hartlepool Mail: "The injuries we had presented others with an opportunity to come in.
"Ritchie has been one of those players and you have to say he, like Paul Murray, has been excellent.
"That might give me a few selection decisions down the line but those are the sort of problems that, as a manger, you welcome."
