Walsall manager Dean Smith has laid down a challenge to Alex Nicholls, calling on the forward to nail down a regular first-team place.
Nicholls has started the last two games and Smith believes he has the talent to be a permanent fixture in his starting line-up.
Speaking to the Express and Star, Smith said: "He needs to become a regular member of the first team. There's a footballer in there and my job is to get it out there and improve him.
"He needs to keep improving to remain in the team. When you play up top you are judged on goals and he knows, if he plays there, he needs to score more regularly."
