Alan Knill has paid tribute to Scunthorpe chairman Steve Wharton's backing as he looks to sign a top-flight striker on loan.
The Iron boss last week signed midfielder Damien Mozika and centre-back Shane Duffy on transfer deadline day, but is keen to bolster his attacking options from a Premier League club when the loan transfer window opens. Knill said: "We've just spent on Damien and Duffy so we really are at the top of the budget - probably over it. "The chairman has really stretched to get the players we wanted in to add a bit of competition, and now we're looking to stretch him a little bit more. "It's been fantastic support."
