Knill has eye on Prem striker

Scunthorpe manager Alan Knill has targeted a Premier League striker to boost his squad when the loan window opens.

Knill signed midfielder Damien Mozika and centre-back Shane Duffy on transfer deadline day, with the latter joining on an initial one-month deal. With Bobby Grant suspended following his red card in the draw against Colchester, and Matt Godden and Jordan Robertson both injured, for the visit of Sheffield United on Saturday, Knill is hoping to strengthen his attacking resources. "It's a good thing the loan window opens on Wednesday, and we've already started looking," Knill said. "I think we definitely need a striker in but it's finding the right one. We're hopeful we're going to get one, and then go from there. "We're looking at people we've looked at before. We've had a 'not yet' for a striker from a Premier League club, but we believe it is a 'maybe' now. He will give us just another option at the top end of the pitch."
