Exeter's Lenny Pidgeley is hoping his penalty heroics against Plymouth will put him in contention to start more regularly.

Artur Krysiak has been the Grecians' regular starter but Pidgeley impressed on his debut as Exeter triumphed 3-0 on penalties over the Pilgrims in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy. The former Chelsea trainee told the Exeter Express and Echo: "It's been a bit of a stop-start season already. I have waited to get my chance and I finally have and I wanted to show what I can do. "Every time I go out on the pitch I want to do the best I can. It's not up to me to pick who plays on Saturday, I just wanted to show Tis (Paul Tisdale) what I can do. He's the manager, he picks the team so I will do whatever I can on the pitch. "I'm very happy. I have come in and just wanted to play some games. I played quite a lot of games last season and at Carlisle. "Throughout my career I have had runs in teams and not been on the bench. I'm 27 now and I just want to play games week in week out."
