Butcher hopes to build on win

Leyton Orient penalty hero Lee Butcher hopes the Carling Cup success against Southend will kick-start their League One season.

Butcher was only in the Os side as first-choice keeper Jamie Jones is injured, but he saved two spot-kicks following Tuesday night's 1-1 draw at Roots Hall. Orient now need to bounce back from Saturday's opening league defeat by Walsall when they face Tranmere this weekend. "It was a great feeling," said Butcher. "As a keeper you are not expected to save penalties but saving two means I am quite pleased with myself. "We showed that character on so many occasions last year and now we just have to kick on and still improve our game. "We need to get better for the league game against Tranmere on Saturday and we really feel we can crack on now."
