Huddersfield Town have completed the signing of Anton Robinson from Bournemouth for an undisclosed fee.

Clark feels signing of midfielder is a coup for Huddersfield

Huddersfield Town have completed the signing of midfielder Anton Robinson from League One rivals Bournemouth for an undisclosed fee. Skysports.com revealed last week that the Terriers had lined up a deal for Robinson, who was a virtual ever-present for Bournemouth last season. He had one year remaining on his deal on the South Coast, but has now secured a move to Huddersfield and he will help to replace the departed Anthony Pilkington. Robinson has signed a three-year contract at the Galpharm Stadium and Terriers boss Lee Clark is delighted with his latest acquisition.

Proven pedigree

"Anton is a top quality performer with proven pedigree at League One level and we are delighted to welcome him to the club," Clark told the club's official website. "His height, combined with his physical abilities and his ability on the ball, are fantastic attributes and he will fit right in to our style of play given his composure and skill when in possession too. He offers us something different and it's great as a manager to have different options. "I think his ability was plain for all to see in our four clashes with Bournemouth last season and his acquisition is a real coup for the club. "We now have what I would consider five senior midfield players in Anton, Damien, Oscar, Tommy and Scott; they will compete for the starting positions."
