Bournemouth boss Lee Bradbury has revealed he had to fend off strong competition from rival clubs to sign Nathan Byrne.
The Tottenham teenager, who will spend the forthcoming campaign on loan at the Seward Stadium, attracted the attention of other League One clubs following a loan stint at Brentford last season.
"We are really pleased to get him on board," said Bradbury. "He is a really well regarded full-back at Tottenham.
"He is very quick, very fit and a good player that will bring a lot of energy to our right side. He likes to run the winger back the other way but he can also defend.
"He went out on loan last season and did well. A few other clubs in our league were looking to take him and, thankfully, we got in there just before them. It is a really good signing."
