Huddersfield teenager Chris Atkinson has joined Darlington on a six-month loan deal.
The 19-year-old central midfielder has linked up with the Conference club ahead of their pre-season friendly at Sheffield on Tuesday night.
He joined the Town youth set-up as a seven-year-old after playing for local junior side Warley Rangers.
Atkinson made 25 appearances for the club's Under-18s side during the 2008-09 season, as well as featuring in five reserve-team games.
He played two matches in League One last season, starting against Dagenham in February and Yeovil in March, as well as making a substitute appearance against Macclesfield in the FA Cup.
