Rovers withdraw Lowe interest

Deterred by the asking price, Tranmere have ended their interest in Bury striker Ryan Lowe without even making an offer.

The 32-year-old, who has two years remaining on his contract, has been the subject of much interest this summer, with Stockport recently having an improved offer rejected which was understood to be in the region of £100,000. Tranmere were rumoured to be in the market for Lowe having sold Dale Jennings to German giants Bayern Munich. But manager Parry has cleared up the situation. He said: "I've heard all the rumours about Ryan Lowe, that we've put a bid in and that we're supposed to be talking to him on Tuesday. "The truth of the matter is that I admire Ryan as a player and I heard Stockport had a bid turned down for him. "I phoned Bury to see whether he was available but the price they wanted was way above what we could afford so it didn't go any further. I didn't make an offer and I've had no further contact. If the situation changes I'd be only too willing to try to come to some sort of arrangement with Bury. As it stands we're looking elsewhere."
