Boss Les Parry says Dale Jennings' move to Bayern Munich will enhance Tranmere's reputation as a club capable of developing stars.
The 18-year-old, who was in Rovers youth and reserve teams a year ago, joined the four-time European champions in a deal worth between £600,000 and £1.8million, depending on appearances.
Parry told the Daily Post: "The higher the level of success Dale achieves, the better for him and for us. He will always have that tag of coming from Tranmere Rovers on him.
"When you look at the likes of Dale and Aaron Cresswell going to Ipswich this summer, it helps us.
"Young players see Tranmere as a club that gives them a chance to get on to the next step of the ladder.
"It is a feather in the cap for our youth system and great motivation for all of the players in the first-team squad down to the centre of excellence here."
