Jordan seeks strike partner

Huddersfield manager Lee Clark has challenged his first-team strikers to earn the right to play alongside Jordan Rhodes.

Rhodes struck 22 goals during Town's unsuccessful promotion campaign and Alan Lee, Danny Cadamarteri, Robbie Simpson, James Spencer and Lee Novak, who scored the only goal in Sunday's friendly win over Gateshead, are all vying to partner him on the opening day of the new season. Clark said: "I was happy to see Lee Novak get on the scoresheet. The gauntlet has been laid down to them during pre-season - whoever scores on a regular basis will partner Jordan Rhodes come August 6. "Jordan has earned the right to be one of the strikers as he is a consistent goalscorer, whereas the others are fighting for the other place."
