Skysports.com understands Owain Fon Williams is to join Tranmere Rovers on a permanent deal.
The goalkeeper is a free agent after leaving Rochdale this summer, when his six-month contract expired.
A number of Championship and League One clubs were interested in Fon Williams, but he has opted for a move to Prenton Park.
The 24-year-old began his career at Crewe before moving to Stockport and then taking in a loan spell at Bury.
Fon Williams joined Rochdale in January and made 22 appearances for the club as they finished ninth, nine places above Tranmere, in League One last season.
