Paul Black is hoping to make further progress next season after signing a new one-year contract at Oldham Athletic.

The full-back has come through the ranks at Boundary Park and has now made 50 appearances for the League One club.

He is happy to be staying with Paul Dickov's side and the 21-year-old considers himself to be one of the more experienced members of the squad.

"I am very pleased to be staying and to have signed for another year," Black told the club's official website.

"I am one of the most experienced players at the club and helping the young lads coming into the team when I still have a lot to learn myself.

"I played more games last season than I have ever done and feel that each year I have progressed.

"I feel a lot more comfortable and accomplished in the side and I am looking to progress further in the coming season."
