Ishmel Demontagnac has joined Notts County and manager Martin Allen insists the winger is not a risky signing.
The 23-year-old has signed a one-year contract with the Magpies with the option of another year.
Demontagnac arrives with a mixed reputation, having been sacked by former club Walsall in 2008 for 'a series of serious breaches of club discipline.'
However, Allen would rather concentrate on what he can do on the pitch.
"He has got himself into some scrapes, but he's fast, creative and poses an attacking threat," Allen told the Nottingham Post. "He's got undoubted ability.
"He's not an easy character to manage, but hopefully we will get on well. It's a big challenge to him and we'll see."
