Hazell out as Latics talks end

Oldham captain Reuben Hazell has left Boundary Park after failing to agree a new contract.

The 32-year-old centre-back was out of contract this summer and was offered two deals by the club but indicated he would now not be signing. He made 166 appearances over four seasons and scored seven goals. Boss Paul Dickov said: "I would like to thank Reuben for his services as he was a great servant for me during my first year as manager. Unfortunately we were unable to agree terms and it is time for him to move on. "Reuben did great for me last season, but it is no point looking back and we have to move forward. We have a budget and structure in place and we cannot afford to jeopardise the future of the club." The club also confirmed out-of-contract left-back Paul Black has been offered terms, but discussions will resume when he returns from holiday.
