Macdonald set to snub Shots

Brentford striker Charlie MacDonald has dismissed speculation of a summer move away from Griffin Park to Aldershot.

The 30-year-old, who has hit 10 goals despite missing a chunk of the season through injury, has a year left on his contract with the Bees and does not fancy a drop down to League Two. "I still feel I have a lot to offer at this level and am confident I can hit the 20-goal mark if I don't have any problems," he told the Hounslow Chronicle. "I've heard the rumours that Aldershot are interested, but I don't know where that's come from, and I have no intention of dropping down a division. "I'm not worried about heading into the last year of my contract as it wasn't until pretty late on last time that I was offered a new deal. But if I'm not Brentford's cup of tea I'm sure there will would be other clubs at this level that are interested. "However, all I want to do is get myself fit and concentrate on scoring goals for this club."
