Notts County defender Krystian Pearce is making good progress in his recovery from a serious head injury.
The 21-year-old was knocked unconscious after a clash of heads with team-mate Stephen Darby in training at the start of this month and tests later revealed he had blood on his brain. He was detained in hospital for two days before being released and is ruled out of action until the end of April. It was the third time this season the former England youth international, who recently signed a deal to stay at Meadow Lane until 2013, had suffered a head injury. Pearce also suffered concussion in a clash of heads with Hartlepool midfielder Gary Liddle at the end of January and Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli the following month. "He's okay and he came to our last home game against Bristol Rovers. We're all glad he's doing well because it was a serious injury," manager Paul Ince told the Nottingham Post. "He still can't do anything so he's going to be out for another four or five weeks but the important thing is that he is recovering well. "He will go back to hospital to make sure everything is okay. It would be great if we could get him back before the end but we won't take any chances."
