Double injury blow for Bees

Brentford have revealed that striker Charlie MacDonald and goalkeeper Richard Lee could be out for the rest of the season.

MacDonald has undergone surgery after scans revealed he sustained ankle ligament damage and a minor fracture in the defeat to League One leaders Brighton earlier this month. Lee has been to see a specialist after injuring his shoulder in Saturday's win against Leyton Orient and although the extent of his injury is yet to be discovered, the Bees fear his season may be over. The news comes as a major blow to boss Nicky Forster, particularly with the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final against Carlisle looming a week on Sunday. Forster told the club's official website: "It would be unfortunate indeed to lose two key players for the remainder of the season and particularly with a Wembley final pending. "It will no doubt be extremely disappointing for them both personally and professionally, as it is for the squad."
