Ince relishing Burgess return

Notts County manager Paul Ince believes it will be like having a new signing when Ben Burgess returns to fitness.

The striker was one of the Magpies' most high-profile signings last summer when he turned down a new contract at Premier League Blackpool to move to Meadow Lane on a two-year deal. However, he has played only 10 league games and scored one goal in an injury-ravaged campaign. The 29-year-old is currently sidelined for another month with a hamstring problem he suffered playing in a friendly match so will not return until near the end of the season. "Ben has had a hard time with injury after injury this season, and long-term ones too, and he is out for three or four weeks at the moment because his hamstring went in a practice match," said Ince. "His ability is unquestionable. He has got good height, a good left foot, he scores goals and he has got experience of playing at a higher level. If he can get himself fit and strong, he will be like a new signing for me."
