Dundee United manager Peter Houston is ready to offer striker Jordan Robertson the chance to put his career back on track.
Robertson is currently looking for a new club following his recent release from prison after being found guilty of dangerous driving and he has been training with Reading.
The former Sheffield United youngster is now set to spend a few weeks training at Tannadice, having impressed the SPL club in a loan spell in the 2007/08 season.
With Jon Daly out for six weeks due to a hernia injury, Houston is keen to provide Robertson with a platform to impress.
No promises
"Jordan is coming up to train with us for a few weeks," said Houston in the
Daily Record. "He's been training with Reading and doing well from what I've heard, but they can't offer him anything.
"Jordan is not a bad lad, what happened happened and I'm sure he will be remorseful forever, but he deserves a second chance.
"He's looking to get his football career back on track and we'll give him a chance.
"I have made him no promises, but if he's in good shape and does well then we'll look at things.
"With Jon Daly out injured we could do with someone. It won't be about money because Jordan has already said that's not what he's interested in."
