Carrington and Routledge join until end of season

Hamilton have confirmed the signings of Mark Carrington and Jon Routledge and the duo could take part in Tuesday's game against St Johnstone. Both players were released from their contracts by MK Dons and Wigan respectively before Monday's transfer deadline. That allowed the Accies to swoop for the pair following the 11pm deadline set for deals between clubs and due to them being free agents they were allowed to complete their deals afterwards. Routledge has already endeared himself to the Hamilton faithful, having played at the club on loan for the first half of the season.

Tracking

He is now joined by Carrington, with both players signing contracts until the end of the season. Manager Billy Reid said: "Mark is someone I've been tracking for a wee while and I'm pleased to secure him. "Jon did well for me in the first part of the season and I think he really liked it here, both in Scotland and as part of our squad, so I'm delighted he is back." The club must now await international clearance to be able to field the pair against the Saints at McDiarmid Park on Tuesday.
