Bees boss brings in Laird

Brentford boss Andy Scott has completed the signing of Millwall midfielder Marc Laird on loan until February 1.

The 24-year-old Scot joined the Lions in 2008 from Manchester City and has gone on to make 92 appearances for the south London club, netting seven goals. Laird has found first-team football hard to come by at the Den this campaign though, having only featured twice. Scott told the club's official website: "With David Hunt having moved on to Crawley I felt we needed to strengthen the midfield area. "Marc brings with him a wealth of experience at this level having achieved promotion with Millwall from League One last season and I think he will comfortably fit into our squad." Meanwhile, on-loan goalkeeper Ben Hamer has returned to parent-club Reading after the completion of his deal and Simon Moore is back with the Bees after his loan spell at Basingstoke came to an end.
