Seagulls boss happy with point

Brighton boss Gus Poyet was in high spirits after Wednesday's 1-1 draw with Charlton, despite a controversial red card.

The Seagulls boss was delighted with his team after the Withdean Stadium clash. They fought back from a goal behind to earn a point, despite being reduced to 10 men after eight minutes as Inigo Calderon was dismissed for a challenge on Therry Racon. "The sending off looked worse than it was," Poyet told the club's official website. "Calderon was upset when he saw the referee bring out a red card. "When you play against Charlton and concede a penalty, a goal and a red card inside ten minutes, and still come away with a draw then you have done well. "After those incidents it was all about Brighton. It was all about the way we played, our desire and our commitment. "The players should all be very proud of themselves." Brighton are now four points clear at the top of League One with a game in hand on second-placed Sheffield Wednesday.
