Skysports.com understands that Carlisle United have beaten off a host of clubs to land Ashley Eastham's signature.
The Blackpool youngster, who has been tipped for big things, has joined The Cumbrians on loan deadline day until the New Year.
Eastham is currently down Ian Holloway's pecking order and has been allowed to join the League One outfit in order to boost first-team experience.
A number of clubs were looking to land the talented defender on loan, but it is Greg Abbott's side who have won the chase.
The defender is the second to join the club inside 24 hours following Miguel Comminges' arrival from Cardiff on Wednesday.
