Robins send promising full-back out on loan

Gillingham have dipped into the loan market and snapped up Callum Kennedy from Swindon Town. The 21-year-old full-back, who is a product of the Robins' youth system, will initially spend a month furthering his development at Priestfield. His spell with the Gills will take in four fixtures, taking him to an away date at Rotherham United on 4th December. Kennedy will bring useful versatility to Andy Hessenthaler's ranks, as he is able to operate on either side of the back four. He is yet to hold down regular football at Swindon but is still regarded as a hot prospect for the future, having made his debut as a 17-year-old in September 2007. The youngster could be thrown straight into the action by Gillingham on Saturday. With John Nutter set to miss a home date with Crewe through suspension, Kennedy may be asked to provide cover.
