Saddlers suffer Davies blow

Walsall's on-loan defender Andrew Davies has been ruled out for around three weeks with a thigh muscle tear.

The Stoke centre-back sustained the injury during last Saturday's desperately disappointing 4-1 home defeat to Tranmere, leading to his 71st-minute withdrawal. Davies, who arrived at the Banks's Stadium on an initial month-long deal at the start of October, will remain with the League One outfit for the duration of his rehabilitation. His progress will then be reassessed at the start of November with a view to extending his stay into a second month. The 25-year-old has started all three games since completing his switch from the Britannia Stadium.
