Manchester United teenager Oliver Norwood has agreed to extend his loan spell at Carlisle for another month.

The 19-year-old has made six league appearances for the Cumbrians since arriving from Old Trafford in August as cover for injured skipper Paul Thirlwell, five of them in the starting line-up. Carlisle manager Greg Abbott said: "Oliver has settled well and he likes what we are trying to do. "We're happy to keep him here for a further month, we've seen what he's about and what he can do, and we can look at it again once we get into November." Norwood, one of the youngest first-year scholars when taken on at Old Trafford in 2007, said: "I've really enjoyed it here and there have been some great games. "Making my debut against Brighton was a real high point and the lads have been fantastic with me from the moment I arrived. It's great for me to be able to stay because it's been a really good experience."
