Hartlepool United are this week set to sign Manchester City youngster James Poole on a month's loan.
The 20-year-old winger could make his debut in Saturday's League One trip to Leyton Orient.
Caretaker boss Mick Wadsworth told the Hartlepool Mail: "We've got a player coming in in James Poole from Man City who will hopefully give us another dimension.
"He's quick and beats players but he's got to fight and knuckle down for a place.
"He comes from a good club, but it's a big jump from reserve and academy football to first team, so we will see."
