Clark: Liam has Terriers future

Huddersfield boss Lee Clark has assured Liam Ridehalgh he has a big role to play after dropping the defender on Saturday.

Ridehalgh, 19, was handed his first-team debut by Clark in last month's home win over Charlton and started in the following two matches, but Lee Peltier was preferred at left-back against Brighton after a family bereavement. Clark said: "It was a tough one. For the first time this season I didn't finalise the team until the morning as opposed to telling the lads on Thursday or Friday. "I told Liam Ridehalgh how terrifically he has done for us. We've taken seven points from nine in the three games he has played. "Unfortunately though, you're talking about one of the best defenders in this League in Lee Peltier. "Lee did a more than capable job at left-back at the end of last season and given that Scott Arfield has been doing really well at right-back, I decided to move Liam out and bring Lee in."
