Dagenham & Redbridge face an anxious wait for news on injured striker Gavin Tomlin after he had to miss the defeat to Notts County.
The summer recruit from Yeovil Town suffered a groin injury on his debut in the 2-0 opening day loss to Sheffield Wednesday.
Since then the 27-year-old has been sidelined and Daggers boss John Still told skysports.com that they will know more about his injury later this week.
"Gavin has a got a little bit of a problem with his groin, but we won't know how long he will be out for until he sees the specialist later this week," he said.
"Obviously, we hope that it isn't too serious, but we will have to wait and see."
The Daggers slumped to the foot of the League One table after the frustrating 1-0 defeat to the Magpies, but Still remains upbeat for the challenges ahead.
"We really took the game to them, especially considering that we were away from home, and had three really good chances to take the lead," he said.
"Josh Scott hit the post and forced the keeper into a good save with another effort and Mark Arber had a great chance when he fired wide.
"I can't remember Tony (Roberts) having a save to make really and I don't think that we were under pressure at all despite the amount of possession they had.
"If we continue to play like that then it won't be long till we put some points on the board and start rising up the table."
