Moore reveals striker snag

Rotherham manager Ronnie Moore admits his pursuit of son Ian Thomas-Moore is likely to end in failure.

Moore had been looking to bring the striker to the Millers after he handed a transfer request in at Tranmere following unrest over his contractual situation at Prenton Park. The 57-year-old admitted United are also unlikely to land Plymouth's Rory Fallon, who had been linked with a move to South Yorkshire. "Both are unlikely to happen," Moore told the Sheffield Star. "We'll just keep knocking on doors, one will open eventually." On his bid for son Ian, Moore added: "We bid £30,000, Tranmere wanted £100,000 and then, on Friday, they offered him a new contract so it looks as if that one will die now."
