Brentford manager Andy Scott is closing in on the signing of Millwall's out-of-favour striker Gary Alexander.
The 30-year-old has held talks with Griffin Park boss Scott over a switch from south to west London.
"Gary is just concluding his bits and pieces with Millwall, and if he signs we hope to have him in the squad to go to Carlisle," Scott told the Hounslow Chronicle.
"He has played in the Championship or League One all his career with a one goal in three ratio, but it's his work-rate and attitude that stand out too.
"He's a strong and physical lad who doesn't stop working and would fit our style of play perfectly. I've been after him for a few years now."
