Peterborough have ruled out making a move for both free agent Simon Francis and Huddersfield Town starlet Theo Robinson.

Posh had a bid accepted by Southend United for Francis in January, but the ex-Sheffield United defender opted to stay at Roots Hall.

Since then the full-back has left the troubled League Two side and is searching for a new club.

Robinson, meanwhile, impressed for the Terriers last season, scoring 16 goals to fire them into the play-offs and has recently been linked with a move to London Road.

However, Posh director of football Barry Fry has told skysports.com that the League One outfit are not looking to sign any more players before the season begins in just over two weeks.

"We haven't looked at either Theo Robinson or Simon Francis to be honest. In terms of Francis, we were keen to bring him in last season, but that was when Mark Cooper was here and since then Gary (Johnson) has taken over and we have signed a new full-back in Mark Little," he said.

"We've signed eight new players this summer and that is the magic number that Gary set for us to bring in at the end of last season, so I don't think we will be bringing any more in unless we pick up some serious injuries during pre-season.

"Gary asked for eight and we have given him eight and he seems pretty happy with them.

"We have picked up a couple of injuries, with Lee Frecklington, Gabriel Zakuani and Tommy Rowe and if they were going to be long-term then we would probably look to bring in a few replacements, but I don't think they will be out for too long."

Meanwhile, Peterborough youngsters Danny Mills and Romone McCrae look set to join Blue Square Premier side Histon on loan, although discussions are still at an early stage.
