Leyton Orient manager Russell Slade is running the rule over trialist Ben Tozer ahead of the new season.
The 20-year-old defender was released by Newcastle at the end of last season after making just one substitute appearance in their promotion-winning campaign.
Slade will also take a further look at Barnet left-back Kenny Gillet, who has featured in both of Orient's pre-season games so far.
Orient travelled to Devon on Sunday for the pre-season Joma South West Challenge Cup that involves 13 clubs.
The Os take on Eastleigh on Tuesday before a clash with Truro on Thursday, with a potential semi-final on Saturday.
