Josh Simpson and Scott Griffiths could be facing a Peterborough exit after boss Gary Johnson revealed they do not feature in his first-team plans.
Midfielder Simpson, 23, was signed by former boss Mark Cooper at London Road last season, joining initially on loan from Histon before moving on a permanent basis in January.
Griffiths, a 24-year-old defender and another Cooper acquisition, arrived at the club from Dagenham in October last year.
The pair did not fly out with the rest of the Posh squad for their pre-season training camp in Portugal.
"They're around, they're under contract and will be involved in the next couple of games, but I want a smaller squad," said Johnson.
"They might get their way back into the squad, or they might want to look elsewhere, it's up to them."
