Fry believes summer strengthening bodes well in keeping players

Barry Fry has spoken of his hopes of persuading George Boyd to stay for Peterborough's League One promotion push. The 24-year-old winger has previously spoken of his desire to move to Nottingham Forest, having spent time on loan at the City Ground last term as Posh were relegated from the Championship. But Peterborough director of football Fry believes summer strengthening by new boss Gary Johnson - including the impressive signings of Grant McCann and Dave Hibbert - can persuade Boyd and others to stay. Fry told the Peterborough Evening Telegraph: "I've spoken to a lot of players like George, Aaron Mclean and Craig Mackail-Smith and all of them have enthused about the players the manager has brought in. "If anyone was thinking about leaving, they might just have changed their mind because they realise we have a great chance of promotion and further success under this manager. "I have never seen a squad this happy at this stage of the summer in my time at the club."
