Joe Skarz is keen to secure a return to Shrewsbury Town after being placed on the transfer list by Huddersfield Town.
The full-back made 20 appearances for the Shrews during the second half of last season and is looking for a new club after being told he can leave Huddersfield.
Skarz enjoyed his time with the League Two club and hopes a deal could be agreed once Shrewsbury appoint a new manager.
"Huddersfield have said to me and seven others that we are available for transfer," the 20-year-old told the Shropshire Star.
"It's no secret I loved my time at Shrewsbury and I would be very interested in talking about next season.
"I had a little bit of contact with them a few weeks ago, but not a lot recently.
"I have been away on holiday, but when they appoint a new manager, which looks like it's going to be in the next couple of weeks, myself and my agent will hopefully speak with them if they are still interested.
"There have been a few bits of interest from elsewhere, but I would love to go back to Shrewsbury."
