Walsall striker Alex Nicholls admits it is a 'big relief' to have resolved his future after signing a new two-year contract.
Nicholls scored four goals in 37 appearances in League One last season and was anxious to secure an extension at the Banks's Stadium.
The 22-year-old, who came through the ranks at Walsall, is delighted to have earned a new deal from manager Chris Hutchings.
He told the club's official website: "I'm delighted. Everyone knows that I am happy at Walsall and to have my future sorted out is a big relief.
"Next season is another big year for me. I want to keep developing and working hard."
Hutchings added: "I'm pleased to have Alex on board. He is an important member of the squad and, like last season, I expect to see him competing for a regular place in the starting line-up.
"It is important that the club continues to progress and look to the future and now, with Alex's long-term future secured, he too can concentrate on his ongoing development."
